* * * NOTE:Sadly, due to Technical difficulties with the restored organ, the concert scheduled for September 13th was postponed at the very last minute. The good news is that I am told the rescheduled date is September 27th at the original time of 2pm. Tickets purchased for the 13th will be honored at the door on the 27th. Once again, Cocktails in Historic San Diego joins the Balboa Theatre Foundation for the premier performance of the newly restored Wonder Morton Organ. This is a once-in a lifetime opportunity to actually be a PART of an historic event. I so hope you can join us. The Balboa Theatre Foundation promises that we will all be "among the first to hear the vibrant sounds of this extremely complex instrument that has become 'the heartbeat of the Balboa Theatre'."

POST CONCERT:

On the 13th, those CIHSD members who attended the post-concert, no-host happy hour at Lincoln's Bar and Grill in the Courtyard Marriott were treated to a great tour of what was once the historic San Diego Trust and Savings Bank building. Our tour included an exclusive look at the 1500 square foot Presidential Suite, an indescribable viewing of San Diego from the cupola atop the hotel, and a visit to the impenetrable underground bank vaults designed to foil even the likes of Dillinger. We plan to repeat the tour and happy hour after the rescheduled performance, with tours beginning around 5:30. You will find the Marriott located three blocks away from the Balboa Theater at 530 Broadway.

Trust me, you're going to want to be there. I can hardly wait to do it again!
