THE PITCH
Now I know most, if not all y'all have heard of the town of Tombstone and the events that transpired there on October 26, 1881. At the OK Corral, to be specific. Three desperados lost their lives that day (one escaped). Three gunslingers on the side of law and order were wounded, and a fourth emerged without a scratch. Makes you wonder where a man like that would choose to settle down after his life came to such a juncture. Makes you wonder who.

How about San Diego? How about Wyatt Earp?

How about celebrating his birthday with Cocktails in Historic Places? Go on and RSVP here.

THE DETAILS
This month we will be will be celebrating the birth of the local legend, infamous to the end, buy knocking back some "red eye" at one of his own saloons.

WHAT: Cocktails in Historic Places March Meetup

WHERE: Georges on 5th
835 5th Avenue
San Diego, CA 92101

WHEN: Thursday, March 19th beginning at 6:30 pm
Presentation / Tour begins approx 7:45 or 8:00pm

NOTE: As always, cocktail attire is requested. Wyatt was said to be a pretty snappy dresser in his own right, and I think he would have approved.

WHERE TO TIE UP YOUR HORSE

  • There is a pay lot on the corner of 6th Street just after you pass E street. Once parked, simply cut across the lot to Fifth street -- and Georges is the first business on the sidewalk. You can't miss it.

  • You can also park on Horton Plaza -- which validates for 3 hours -- and then walk east on F street 1 block, cross 5th -- and then walk north on 5th until you see G5 on the right.

  • Valet-parking is available on the corner of 5th and F -- and also at the corner of 5th and E.

  • There is a large parking structure on the East Side of Sixth Street, just before you get to Market. Just drive south on Sixth -- and you'll see the parking structure entrance on the left.

Lost? Feel free to call the restaurant directly at 619-702-0444.

So, saddle up, belly up, and we'll see you there, pardner.
