Hello, Ladies and Gents!
This month we return to another favorite from our first year of Cocktails in Historic Places. Come get a special sneak peek at this 1927 San Diego landmark. The El Cortez was once a fashionable hotel but is now no longer open to the public . . . unless you're connected, of course. We are. (Thanks, Ben!) Please take a moment to double-check your RSVP to make sure sure it accurately reflects your intention to attend. What: Cocktails in Historic Places Where: Sole Luna Cafe at The El Cortez 702 Ash Street San Diego , CA 92101 When: Thursday, February 26th 6:00pm - 7:30pm -- No-host cocktails and chitchat 7:30pm - 8:00pm SHARP!!! -- Tour of the El Cortez 8:00pm - ?? -- More cocktails and chitchat NOTE: Please be sure to arrive in time for the Tour. The El Cortez will only be accessible to us for the half hour between 7:30 and 8:00pm What Do I Wear? As always, cocktail attire is requested, and vintage cocktail attire is heartily encouraged! Click here for tips. Additional Details: The El Cortez sits on the North East corner of Ash and 7th. Sole Luna is not actually IN the El Cortez, but right there on the corner next to the El Cortez. Head through the bar and cafe and we will be meeting up in the back patio. Parking After 6pm all of the street parking is free. You may park both at meters and in the yellow "commercial" zones. Just be careful not to park at the blue or white curbs. Additional street parking is available along 8th avenue north of Ash. The closest pay lot is 2 blocks directly west of the El Cortez between Ash and Beech on 5th Avenue. I don't know what the rate is there, but it is safe to say that it will be less than downtown lots, being further outside the Gaslamp. There appear to be several other lots along B street as well. Any questions, feel free to drop me a line, I will be checking my email frequently between now and Thursday night, so I should get back to you promptly. Ciao till then! -- Kristine Event Planner Cocktails in Historic Places http://histpreserv.me... |
