Who organized?
Kristine and Paul

Construction of this was the practice run for the men who went on to build perhaps the most iconic building in all of San Diego. The original home of the Scripps Institute, this is a one of a kind gem you may have never even noticed.

A couple of hours at our first stop and then we'll stroll to another, often-overlooked gem. Finally, we round out the evening at a hotel with a very tenuous tie to an infamous British noble and a cantina known for delicioso Margaritas!

very fun and very informative....I wish they had made it at 6:00pm because happy hour was over when it started at 6:30pm
    •  Great event. Going to a few different locations made it even more interesting and fun. Paul always does a great job sharing the history of these locations with us. Thanks

       Great group
    •  We made the best of a bad-management situation at the Boathouse. We have a great group of people.

Boathouse was a nice place to meet. Seeing Spreckles' home was a nice double-duo. Paul grows in his talent for speaking. Where was the quiz ?? I committed everything to memory !!

The Boathouse and other Coronado landmarks were a great choice for a meetup. The drinks and appetizers at the Boathouse were delicious. I enjoyed having a stroll outdoors in the evening and the chance to spread out the activities for a few hours and see more than one landmark. The people who attended were friendly and interesting and I really enjoyed myself and will go again. Also, thanks to the organizers for doing the research and sharing the history of the buildings we toured. I have more of an appreciation for the historical figures who were instrumental in putting San Diego on the map after this experience!

Thank you Paul and Kristine as always it was a joy. Well Done!
    •  As always, the people were wonderful. The locations were interesting, and the views great. The drink prices were a bit much, though, especially at the Brigantine, where the price of a Cosmo was almost twice what I'd paid for one elsewhere. The food at the Boathouse was also a bit overpriced for what you got, but it was good.
    •  This was one of the best I've attended and they are all good from past meetups in this group. Highly recommended! Spreckles was an interesting pivotal figure in SD I needed to learn more about. Thanks, Paul and Kristine!
