Kristine

In December we will be revisiting another member favorite. This exquisite and historic venue never fails to provide our group with genteel hospitality, succulent cocktails and a fascinating "insider tour" from one of our favorite guides. Simply stated -- we love this place.

Do join us for no-host cocktails and a tour of what I believe to be one of the most successful restorations in San Diego.

Festive holiday cocktail attire requested.

    •  I'd like to see the tours start a bit sooner---1.5 hours is a bit long to stand and drink cocktails before a longer than one hour tour.

This is a wonderful event, the U.S. Grant is exceptional and really take care of this group. The tour is great and my guests were thrilled to be included. Thank you Kristine. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
    •  Good turnout, and it was nice meeting Paul and Kristine. I really enjoyed the opportunity to see the hotel. Would've stayed after, but bartender appeared overwhelmed. Look forward to next meetup.

Wow, what I great time I had, learning about the U.S. Grant! It's so beautiful and historic! Thanks for setting this up!
    •  I had a fun time last night -- and Clifford and his tour was awesome -- but I was surprised at the curtness, inattentiveness, and inflexibility of the bar staff. (They asked me if I would like them to open my champagne bottle, as if I wanted to open it myself.) I guess I learned my lesson to only order from the wait-staff at the U.S. Grant lounge from now on. No bar. Clifford went out of his way to give us a fantastic tour of the Presidential suite last night. Fantastically fun. As a group organizer, my only issue about this meetup group is that I'm continually astounded by the number of people who RSVP "yes" but then never show up each event. We have an ongoing 30- to 50-percent "flake factor." Changing your RSVP to "maybe" would be most helpful to the organization of these events. Thanks.
    •  I felt very special being able to tour the Grand Hotel and hear about it's history....thank you Kristine for putting on another terrific event during the Holiday Season.
    •  U.S. Grant is phenomenal in its lush San Diego history, & Clifford once again delivered a lively account. This is a great Meetup, as it combines the ability to learn about the rich history of San Diego, with a great, fun, polished group. Kudos!!
    •  Fun coming to U.S. Grant. First time at an event.
    •  Clifford was an extraordinary docent. I was surprised that he could take that many people on such an extensive tour of the U. S. Grant. Also enjoyed meeting some new people.
    •  These events are always great!
    •  Another great event!
    •  great meetup with friendly people as always! great tour of us grant.
    •  It was a grand evening at the Grant Hotel with a friendly and warm group of people. I have lived in San Diego for years and it was the first time that I have been inside of the Grant Hotel. One of the reasons I like Meetups is they are get you out of your routines. Clifford was so good and engaging telling us the history and stories about the hotel. Happy Holidays to all.

       great tour!
    •  My 1st meetup with this group and it sure was fantastic! The Grant Hotel was so beautiful & rich with all the history told so well by our tour guide, Clifford (?). Friendly group of people too. Looking forward to future meetups.
