You're Invited to Cocktails in Historic San Diego!

You are invited to join us for Cocktails in Historic San Diego!

This group is for anyone interested in the architecture and history of San Diego. The goal is to provide a comfortable social happy hour in historically significant surroundings, and perhaps increase awareness of some of the triumphs of preservationists in the San Diego area.

The meetups will occur initially in publicly accessible historic hotels, restaurants and lounges in metropolitan San Diego. A local historian will be present to talk about the history of the space and answer any questions.

There is no per-meeting fee, but voluntary donations may be accepted at some events toward a preservationist effort highlighted for the month. No-host food and cocktails.

Our inaugural meetup was in October of 2007, at (appropriately) one of the most HAUNTED places in San Diego, the Horton Grand Hotel. Since then we've had an amazing behind the scenes tour of the newly renovated US Grant Hotel and celebrated Boxing Day at a San Diego icon, the Hotel del Coronado, and a very special private peek inside the no-longer-open-to-the-public El Cortez.
